(1) A 720km journey

I would like to tell you about the trip I took to Australia last year for purchasing goods.

First time in Australia in 4 years.
From Sydney, we take a plane and a car to begin our 720km journey to Lightning Ridge, the source of black opals.
When we landed at the airport, there was only one plane left.
As you drive, you come across small towns approximately every 100 km where you can stop to eat and take a break.
The first rest town from the airport is Gilgandra .
We enjoyed lunch at what must have been the only cafe in town.
The peaceful town, filled with leisurely pace and favorite colors, looks like a picture postcard.
There are not only bustling towns, but also quiet towns where time seems to stand still.
We rush to Lightning Ridge before the sun sets.
Along the way, the WiFi didn't work as we left each town, so the second half of the drive was a tense one, relying almost entirely on GPS, and we were careful not to miss the rare forks in the road.
Our goal was to arrive at Lightning Ridge before dusk, when kangaroos, who are nocturnal and love car lights, are more likely to jump out onto the road, but we were so fascinated by the scenery of each town that we took a few detours.
Instead of kangaroos, we encountered emus.
We finally reached the entrance to Lightning Ridge just as the sun was setting and the first stars were coming out.
After more than half a day of traveling, including a detour, we checked into the motel.
The next morning we started looking for opals.
